All about ordering from Fibrespace
We know ordering online can be a bit confusing – we’ve worked really hard to make the experience as quick and easy as possible, so that you can spend more time making amazing things!
That said, sometimes you have extra questions that you want to ask. To save you the trouble of emailing or calling us, we have tried to answer as many as possible, below.

On June 11, our physical store in Te Awamutu moved to an online-only warehouse. This means we’re currently surrounded by boxes of yarn that we’re trying desperately to unpack, as quickly as we can.
Most of the yarn we stock is online already, even if stock levels haven’t yet been updated – if you’re looking for something specific, use the search bar to find it.
If the colour you’re after isn’t listed, please get in touch. We might have the colour in the warehouse but we just haven’t updated it online yet.
Soon, all our available wools and colours will be accurate and online. But for now, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Have a large project to complete but worry about the amount of wool you’ll need?
Don’t fret, we offer discounts for yarn when you order 10+ of the same colour and brand!
Choose the colour you’re after from the colour swatches or drop down, then the discounted prices should show up for you!
*Note: This is a new offer that we’re slowly rolling out across the website. If a product doesn’t have a tiered price, we just haven’t got around to updating it yet!
You may or may not know, that yarn tends to come in packs of 10.
So when we order in our stock, everything arrives neatly in packs, divided by colour.
If you order 10 balls of the same brand, same colour, we can simply pick a whole pack and send it out. Much quicker than if we have to open pack of various colours.
Therefore, we pass the savings onto you and offer a discount to customers who choose to buy an entire pack at once.
Your discounted price will be automatically applied if you add 10 balls of the same yarn in the same colour.
It’s near impossible for us to keep every colour of yarn in stock at any one time, but this doesn’t mean we can’t get orders out to you quickly!
We get in more stock every week. This means that, if you want a specific colour that isn’t currently in our warehouse, we can order it in especially for you in our next order.
Sometimes, the colour is unavailable for us to order in. If this happens, or there is a long wait, we will let you know and give you some options.
Please note, if there are products in your order that are on backorder, your order will remain on hold until your entire order is available to be sent out.
We try our very best to ensure our colour swatches online are the closest possible representation of the actual colour of the yarn.
However, we can’t control how you see the colour – every screen, monitor and light source produces different tones, warmth and depth.
Additionally, every batch of dyed wool will have a slight variation to it.
We’re working on a way to make this easier, so you can purchase a couple of swatches to have a look and feel at before buying your yarn.
Until that time, please double check the colour code and name of the colour, to ensure you’re purchasing a colour you’ll love to work with!
Here at Fibrespace, we try really hard to accurately describe the colours of the yarn. Sometimes, this means that our name won’t match up with the name you might have seen on other websites for the same colour code.
If you are concerned that a colour might have changed (due to batches etc) or want some clarification, send us a message and we’ll be happy to check colours and send some more photos, if we have that yarn in stock.
If you need extra yarn to finish up a project, we understand how important it is to get the same dye batch.
Please get in touch with us before you place your order, to check which batch we currently have in stock.
We do not check batches once the order has been placed.
Here at Fibrespace, we understand the benefit to seeing yarn in person and touching it with your hands.
We’re actively working on a way to send yarn swatches, so that you will be able to take a closer look at yarn you’ve been eyeing up.
Until then, we ask that you consider your purchase carefully before finalising it.
Due to the nature of yarn, if we cannot guarantee it has been kept in dry, dust-free conditions, we are not comfortable taking yarn back to sell on to someone else.
At this point, we are unable to take returns due to change-of-mind.
